Description
O Glorious Canada ~ Ô Canada Glorieux is a bilingual adaptation of Calixa Lavallée’s anthem that highlights Canada’s nobility and grandeur. It’s both a tribute to history and a celebration of Canada’s linguistic and cultural diversity. It features a soloist voice part accompanied by two triumphant trumpets parts.
(Calixa Lavallée’s 1880 composition “Ô Canada” later became Canada’s official national anthem. Lavallée, a Quebec-born composer, originally wrote the music for a patriotic hymn commissioned by the Société Saint-Jean-Baptiste. The French lyrics were penned by Sir Adolphe-Basile Routhier. Over time, English adaptations emerged, eventually leading to the bilingual anthem we know today.)
